I love my AS-400 saxophone, it’s beautifully finished with a rich tone and a fine sturdy carrying case. For the price, it can’t be beaten.

Great sound quality. Came to me tuned. Now I can finally get back into my music. Also the case is high quality. Love it!

Oh, if only I could play it as well as I know it can sound - or maybe as well as I used to play when I was much younger! But as I did then, I’ll keep practicing. Thanks for a great value.

TR 3rd Valve Slide

Not sure why it took so long for me to get the item but I am happy that it actually works and fits correctly. Kudos for that. I believe the price needs a bit of adjustment since it is just 1 part. Thank Goodness that is the only part of the trumpet that was missing.

A quality buy!

Sound and quality are good, especially for the price - got it in silver which is really nice looking

I need to talk to someone with authority in your bussiness as we recieved a yellow gold sax instead of a Silver Alto Sax. And we have one VERY disappointed young lady!

Dream Come True

It's been over 20 years since I last played and wasn't sure how it would go to pick up again. But this sax is a dream--both to look at and play. Wish I'd done this sooner!

Beautiful construction and a fantastic sound!

Very nice!!

Great Saxophone!

Thoroughly please with the horn I received 4 days ago. The sound is rich and vibrant. Even the mouthpiece that came with it was great as a starter until my upgraded one was delivered. The only thing I miss as a personal preference is not be able to remove the neck while putting on and taking off the mouthpiece. On the other hand, it's pretty nice having the saxophone as a one-piece. Love it and am very pleased with the purchase!

Professional soprano ss860

This is a great soprano, was in the market for a Yamaha soprano, because I have a
Yamaha alto, that plays really well.
I have abandoned my search for Yamaha
Soprano, because this jean Paul SS860 is
So good that I don't believe that any Yamaha soprano can play better ,this is the best soprano for the money.
I also a student curved soprano from Jean Paul, nice soprano, but the ss860 is so much better 200%
Thanks Jean Paul

A comfortable choice

I bought this saxophone to replace a Selmer student sax that I bought decades ago while playing in a small local cover band, to facilitate the recent resurgence of my playing passion. The playability and big sound of the AS-860 should make it easy for me to develop into a good sax player.
The mouthpiece provided seems adequate so far, however the ligature shipped with it is in my opinion a bad design and will be replaced. The key layout is comfortable and the action up and down the horn is very fluid and responsive. I opted for the brass finish, which is very attractive. The blue sandstone pearl key touches, along with the nicely etched decorations on the bell, give it an almost elegant appearance. At its current price point it is in my opinion a very comfortable value choice.

Great purchase!

Fantastic instrument, faster then original scheduled delivery.
Thank you for making a gift being delivered just in time for the holidays.

Wrong size

I received an extra small neck strap which was useless. I returned it. I don't know if I will receive the proper size.

Must have music stand

This music stand is well made and light. Would recommend it for any new student.

New Sax

Love the sound, just have to practice & become familiar with each note!

The instrument is beautiful

What a pretty saxophone and it plays beautifully. I will have to track down the videos that I read would be sent to me. Lots of welcome emails but I haven’t found any that included the pro playing my horn, etc, that I read about before purchase. Would kind of like proof that those hesitant low notes are my skill and not the instrument. 😂 This gorgeous instrument can’t be beat at this price point.

Discrete packaging.

I'm glad you offer this service. Where I live, packages are delivered in a location for the whole neighborhood to see, as well as those passing through. It gave me peace of mind.

Curved soprano sax

Very nice soprano sax, easy to play and pleasant sounding. Good value !

Great mouthpiece!

I bought this mouthpiece because I really like the one that came with my soprano sax. Glad I did, it’s great.

Bright beautiful horn

This alto plays beautifully. It is a very bright horn (it might be the jazz mouthpiece I put on it). I need to find a darker mouthpiece. The only concern is that the octave key is very high. Hopefully it is an easy adjustment.

Saxophone AS-400

Great instrument and great service

Sax

Love the sound the quality it's a great instrument

Great Little Horn

New to soprano, and it’s definitely more challenging than my Mk Vl Tenor, but she’s a very well made, great sounding little horn. Thanks for a great, reasonably priced product and excellent customer service!

Really nice sax upgrade

The 10th Anniversary addition AS860 from Jean Paul has been a really beautiful upgrade from my first student-level sax. Didn’t care for the upgraded mouthpiece at first, but now love it. Customer support (Felipe) has been awesome to work with, and is taking care of a problem with the wrong item sent in my order bundle. Very happy with the tonal qualities and feel of the AS860. Thanks Jean Paul!

They don't tell it.. but

Jean Paul saxophones are manufactured in China! Please consider the quality and the source..

Very satisfied!

I'm returning to the sax after 40 years and started with a rental Yamaha 475II. When I was ready for my own horn, the JP looked a great value and I loved the silver with black pearl anniversary edition. While a little bit harder to blow than the Yamaha, I can hit the high notes much better. Tone and intonation seem good and pleasing to my novice ear.

a beautiful new alto saxophone for an old guy

My new Jean Paul AS400S was delivered several days ago, a little faster than its predicted schedule. And the first thing out of its case, it's strikingly beautiful!
Of course, its appearance is not where its ultimate value lies - it's how easy is the instrument to play. And I will be finding that out as I progress.
I just turned 80 years old and I am a complete neophyte to the alto saxophone. I can tell you that I am massively looking forward to learning to play this instrument and to master it to whatever degree I can. I have been singing for over 7 decades. So as to hold my interest, I have chosen to learn an instrument which requires developing very good breath support, which requires developing the manual dexterity to play competently, and which requires the mental exercise involved with transposing keys. I think the alto saxophone is just the ticket for me. I am very excited to embark on this adventure!
I will keep you informed of my progress.
(BTW, if you know of and can recommend a good online training which starts at the very basics and doesn't skip any vital steps as one moves through the lessons, I will appreciate any suggestions you may want to share.)
Best, Dennis Braan
