After buying the student level alto a few years agoand loving it, we decided to take the plunge to buy the pro tenor. The sax is beautiful, sounds great. My only critique is that the keys were supposed to be a beautiful blue. When it arrived, they were white. I mentioned it to Tim and he said they went back to the original keys and had not updated the website yet. I was quite disappointed, but not enough to send it back. It's a keeper for sure and I look forward to playing it for years.

I bought this horn for my wife because she has always wanted a silver tenor saxophone. She absolutely LOVES it.

Professional Tenor Saxophone ANNIVERSARY EDITION

I bought one and I love this Sax. It took a while to get, but it came well tuned so worth the wait.

I was looking for a pro sax with great sound and good ergonomics but at a price that I can afford and I really found it with the TS860! This sax sounds great through out all the register. It feels very comfortable and is very responsive. The construction is very sturdy and it has all the features to adjust key heights that a pro sax should have. Previously, I tested a PMauriat pro sax valued at 5 thousands USD dollars but I prefer the sound of the Jean Paul. The only thing that should be improved is that middle D sounds stuffy. But, I was able to improve the sound by opening the lower C.

If you are thinking about buying a professional level tenor sax, you will not be disappointed with this horn. It feels great in your hands. Meaning, the keys are where they suppose to be and the horn is very comfortable to play. The tone is wonderful. My low b-flat key had a little light coming thru but I fixed that myself. I also had the same problem with my Selmer and that is a $5000 horn. Get yourself a good mouthpiece and this tenor will sing. I am playing on a Theo Wanne Durga mouthpiece and it makes this horn really sing from low B-flat to altissimo C. I love this horn. My Alto is a Selmer Series III Jubilee, my soprano is a Yanagisawa. I would also own Jean Paul's curved soprano but my fingers on my right hand constantly hit the bell of the horn. If it was not for that, I would not have purchased my Yanagisawa. That is how well that horn sounded and played but this review is about Jean Paul's TS860. Save yourself a lot of money and get yourself one if you are in the market for a professional level tenor sax before the price goes up. The anniversary engraving is just icing on the cake. I was not paid or given anything for this review. OH and the customer service is second to none.

I found the saxphone's sound to be different the the student model who's sound I LOVED. It's more focused and subdued. The key work is incredible, fluid and responsive. However, I found the altissimo to be difficult to sound. I tried a different neck, a Yamaha V1 - and the sound opened up and altimissmo became much easier to sound. So I had to return the Sax in hopes they develop the neck a little further in a future model, or offer a different neck option with the purchase. I just ordered a student model in silver to see if it re-creates the amazing experience I had with the brass colored model, which might be the best tenor sax I 've every played --- I sold it to a friend, because I only play silver horns. DEFINETLY worth a try!! It can match the performance of much more expensive horns.

I was hoping that it would make me sound better, than my 3 intermediate model tenor saxophones do, but I sound exactly the same. I also don't like the recessed left octave key rest or metal right thumb hook

Arrived very quickly. Packaged well. Plays great. The video of it being played to ensure it was set up well prior to shipment was unexpected but much appreciated personalized touch. Highly recommend

One of the best bangs for the buck. I’ve owned Yamahas, Selmers, vintage and new pro horns and this one is plays comparable if not more consistent throughout the range of the horn. Intonation is good, is bright and would be great for jazz/funk.

So Far so good! Great playing instrument. The only thing I can say is that the cork doesn't fully fit the mouthpiece they sent with the instrument. Outside that... No complaints!

Very nice horn. I was looking for a pro model horn at a good price and I found it because of other people reviews. Thanks to Jean Paul saxophones people don't need to pay extreme high prices to get a great looking and sounding horn. There were a few things that needed some adjustment to the set up but that should be consistent with the low price. For my set up I reduced the tention in the springs for the left hand upper stack. The next thing I did was add felt to all the right hand lower stack keys like f,e, and d. The action is closer and much better in tune on the upper register . This set up improves feel and speed for me and really feels like my 875 yamaha and cannonball saxophones.

It's a nice horn, it sounds great. A good quality for a low price, what else? Excellent technical support.

The silver edition is beautiful, I cant believe I jumped right into your professional model, as a pure beginner with no experience, well..maybe just a bit, 50 years ago I tried an alto. I love the sound of horn, even with all my squeeks.

For many years I have wanted a professional grade tenor saxophone. With the responsibility of raising a family I never had the cash to get a good horn. Then I saw a review of the Jean Paul. I saved for more than a year and was able to purchase my new sax at a great price. It is beautiful in so many ways. The delicate etching is tasteful and thoroughly attractive. The sound is deep and rich and easy to produce. It has a rich, warm feeling that has been such a pleasure. This is a dream come true. I am not yet a great player, but I certainly am encouraged to move forward with this horn. By the way the service has been very good, and I truly appreciate the quick delivery. I anticipate doing more business with Jean Paul in the future.

Purchased the Pro Tenor after my Pro Alto purchase and I'm just as happy with the Tenor as I am with the Alto. Great value, well put together, smooth action and a nice dark tone. I use the JP hybrid mouthpieces with both horns and they work very well together.

I purchased the AS-860 six months ago, and my son loves it. So I purchased him the TS-860 and the SS-860 2-weeks ago. He's having a blast with his new horns. I just wish that I would have waited a few days before purchasing the TS-860 because I missed out on your 10% sale. I received your email offer just a few days after the TS-860 arrived on my door step.

The horn is all that I expected it to be at this point I just got it and it takes time to get to know what it will do and won’t do. I’m happy to have it. I’ve said it before the proof of Jean Paul being a great horn it’s difficult to find a used one. No one sells them. I’ll write something else in a few weeks.

I purchased the anniversary edition tenor saxophone about one month ago and I’m very satisfied with its workmanship and performance to date. The placement of the left hand high register palm keys, the smooth action of the low Bb platform, and excellent intonation throughout all registers of this horn met my expectations. In addition I find that all key spring action is consistently responsive and this tenor feels comfortable in my hands. Excellent entry and value into the pro saxophone world.

The Pro Sax is built very well from what I can see so far. Its solid, the pinky and side keys are tapered for easy finger access and the case for the sax fits and is tight (sax does not shake around in the case.)

From a playability perspective, the horn is free blowing although it does not seem to adhere to some of the standard attissimo fingerings for Tenor sax (specifically the high G and G# are driving me crazy trying to find and hit right now based on the provided mouthpiece and a 2.25 synthetic reed).

I'm not a pro player but have been playing for 4 years now so I rate this horn with very high marks for the build quality and price.

Great value for a well built horn!
