Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece
Big upgrade from the Yamaha 4c
I bought this mouthpiece because I really like the one that came with my soprano sax. Glad I did, it’s great.
A sincere thanks to Daniel and his team for the extraoridinary support when I have an issue with the AS4 mouthpiece.
When I first write to him, his first reaction was to focus on solving the issue for me instead going through the whole process of verifiying how I use the mouthpiece.
And once the replacement mouthpiece is on the way, Daniel personally wrote an email to me to inform of the tracking number.
I greatly appreciate this customer centric approach not many company subscribe to these days.
A great thanks to Jean Paul and her crew. I will definitely buy another Jean Paul professional saxophone once I saved enough.

for the same reason I wanted the silver-plated alto, I really liked the mouthpiece that came w JP altos... medium chamber, free blowing like a Yammy 4 or 5c, tho I swapped the ligature out for my Rovner and still use a Legère American Cut reed. I'm going for a clear, airy tone with the alto, more classical, restrained, on pitch, and sweet. I can balance the entire range of the instrument with this mouthpiece (and this horn for that matter). When I want dramboozle with syrup and growl, it's time to reach for the tenor ;) Anyway, that's me... thx to JP staff, esp Tim in support, who actually created a comparison video because I was needing to hear the diff between the brass and silver models. Grazie!
The quality and ease of use is apparent from the first note that you blow

Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece - AS-4
She’s wanted a sax for a for years, once we learned about this brand and learned more about it from YT, Reddit, etc, we decided to give it a shot. She loves it.
The alto sax mouthpiece plays the way I hoped it would play. I am very satisfied with it.
I have two tenor saxophones (Conn 10m and Jean Paul student tenor) and the Jean Paul (after I modified the octave key) is my go to tenor. I have ten tenor mouthpieces but the JP mouthpiece is the best for my JP sax. I aldo play a Yamaha YAS 62 alto (original) with a Selmer S190 mouthpiece. I doubted that a JP alto mouthpiece would be a step up since Jean Paul selects their mouthpieces to match the harmonics of their instruments, not to someone elses instruments, but for a half price sale I took a gamble and bought one my Yamaha on the hopes that the tone would at least be good. It's now my favorite alto mouthpiece. It has a a VERY beautiful tone and is even easier to play than my Selner S190. I ordered two more alto mouthpieces. One to share with a friend who also has a Yamaha YAS62 and one to experiment with refacing. I also ordered an extra tenor mouthpiece for the same reason.
If you have the JP alto or a Yamaha YAS 62, you can't go wrong with this mouthpiece.
Prof mouthpiece ligature is poorly made and does not fit properly
I bought the tenor and alto saxophone mouthpiece along with the ligatures they both work fine. The the new ligature hold the reeds very tight. I like them both I’m transitioning to playing the tenor from alto. I’m just in the middle trying to make up my mind. I really like both of my Jean Paul horns.
works without issue. had to order #3 reeds. maybe jean paul could include a few different sized reeds otherwise very happy.
Mouth piece is pretty good, a bit squeaky, I would say that the mouth piece that came with the saxophone was better.
Love it. Sound of play is fuller due to Jean Paul Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece.
Very pleased with my sax and new mouth piece .
I ordered my Jean Paul AS-400 and AS-4 mouthpiece on a Monday and received the shipment on Thursday. The saxophone is beautiful and plays beautifully. I am so happy with my order and will absolutely continue shopping with Jean Paul for my sax needs. Thanks, guys!
Superb!
Gracias Jean Paul 🙏🏻
So far so good thanks michael
Perfect addition to my previously purchased Jean Paul Alto Sax!

I like it alot
I had heard about Jean Pau's great customer service. I got to experience it first hand when I contacted the company about what I thought was a minor issue with the neck on my alto sax. They siad told me to send in the receipt and they would send me a new one. Within days they did. They also had me contact a tech guy who helped make sure the new neck was installed correctly and worked properly. Pretty impressive.
Really good mouthpiece! There’s a big difference in sound between my Yamaha 4c and this one. Definitely an upgrade!
I don’t know much about mouthpieces but it sounds a lot better then the one it came with
Arrived in perfect order, rich tonal quality, particularly in the lower registers, key action very responsive, and a nice solid weight!
Thank you Jean Paul for this wonderful instrument!!
My son can’t wait to try it out - he broke his collarbone two weekends ago...
Just got the AS-4 and tried it out. WOW and whoopee. I am a rank beginner (all of a couple days) on a 20+ year VITO (YAS-23) I just got. It came with a used Vandoren AL-3. I was having much trouble trying to blow without screeching, much less producing any good tone; the mouthpiece sucked (although my son could blow it OK). A friend let me try a Yamaha 4C which was better, but I still had trouble blowing a consistent note. I had ordered a Jean Paul TS-4 mouthpiece for my son's Xmas present and on a hunch, I ordered the AS-4 for myself as well (JP has very fast free shipping on the MP). On my first blow I produced a smooth note. I did it again and again until I felt that this is THE mouthpiece I needed. Now I can actually start to learn to play instead trying to blow a smooth sound. I am usng a 1.5 Rico reed I can also play the 2.0 reed OK with a little more effort.
I am very impressed with this mouthpiece as the well as the TS-400 sax I recently purchased for my 13 year old and the TR-330 trumpet I bought for my 8 year old. Jean Paul rocks.
Wow....what a difference this mouthpiece makes to the sound! I play a Jean Paul AS400 saxophone, and it came with a Rico mouthpiece. After this mouthpiece, I am really loving the sound. It is so controlled and in tune. I used a Rico 2.5 reed with this, but I think I may need to reduce the strength of the reed with this mouthpiece, cos it's a difficult blow, for a beginner like me.
